Jog 6 hr 51 min (402.2 km) via NH 48 and NH 69, Bengaluru Jog Falls, also known as Gerosoppa Falls or Jogada Gundi, is a waterfall located in the Shimoga district of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is the second-highest plunge waterfall in India, and is a popular tourist destination known for its scenic beauty. The falls are formed by the Sharavathi River, which plunges down 253 meters into a deep ravine. The falls are best viewed during the monsoon season, when the water flow is at its highest. Jog Falls is easily accessible by road and is located approximately 400 kilometers from the city of Bengaluru. It is a popular spot for trekking and picnics, and is surrounded by a number of tourist attractions, including the Jog Falls Dam and the Linganmakki Dam.
