Hampi better known as the world’s largest open air museum, after all these centuries testifies to the glory of the Vijayanagara Empire. The still-standing monuments, with their carefully articulated design and sculpture, pay tribute to the opulence and grandeur. The iconic Stone Chariot and the legendary musical pillars within the Vijaya Vittala Temple: which, as the legend goes, was built for Lord Vishnu himself and the ancient Virupaksha Temple which is believed to have hosted the betrothal of Lord Shiva and Parvati; and countless other monuments steeped in history are what stand as background to the Hampi Heritage & Wilderness Resort. The resort is open throughout the year. July to March is the best time, as the weather is pleasant and a good time to spot wildlife. Sloth bears can be sighted across the year.
Buffet Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast will be served in the Golghar.

The resort is clean . Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is ideal for visiting hampi as well as the bear sanctuary. There is a nice bird hide on the resort from where we had a really good sighting of birds. I would highly recommend this resort.

Our first trip to Hampi was an absolute delight and the complete credit for this goes to the staff at Jungle Lodges. We stayed there for 3 nights, where we covered Daroji Bear Sanctuary, and the ruins of Hampi. The in-house guide, Venkatesh was a treasure trove of history, and through his excellent story-telling and knowledge, transported us back in time during the days of Krishnadevaraya. He patiently explained each structure and its significance and answered all our questions to the best of his knowledge. We also had Mr.Basil from JLR who coordinated with the staff and set the itinerary. This is a great place for birding as well. We spotted the Indian Eagle-Owl, Sand Grouse, Painted Spur Fowl, etc among a host of birds. The food was great, with a wide spread of some delectable veg and non-veg cuisine. The rooms are clean and spacious. If it''s Hampi, then look no further. JLR Heritage and Wilderness Camp is where you should stay.

Typical JLR property with similar facilities, itinenary, food and service. The location is perfect with right in the jungle but still close to Hampi heritage site. Food is tasty with all round kitchen facilities and serves mainly south Indian food. Stayed here for 2nights and itinerary covered was perfect. The value for money is the service, package that comes with stay and all 3 meals.

This is a place that you have to do at least once in your lifetime. Perfect mix of History and Wildlife with good access to guides and naturalists. All the people in the place and associated with them, including external guides, are motivated, committed and truly engaged with your experience. They not only make your stay comfortable and enjoyable but they ensure that your trips to the historical sites and the nature parks are well supported by people who are well trained for the job.
