- 700 Kms. from Bengaluru - Bengaluru - Chikkaballapura - Anantapur - Kurnool - Bidar - Blackbuck Resort
18 km from Bidar, the former Bahmani capital, lies a stretch of land where the endangered blackbuck roams free. The Blackbuck Resort is nestled cozily next to the Vilaspur Lake, close to the Honnikeri Reserve Forest. Just when you begin to adjust to the unforgiving beauty of the surroundings, the silence, as if on cue, is broken by the chorus of birds. Reminding us, that even the somber does smile. Between October and February is ideally the best time to visit. The weather is mild and the surroundings are painted in shades of green
Buffet Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast will be served in the Golghar.

It was my husbands birthday and we were looking for a resort around Hyd where we could go spend some quality time! Blackbuck resort was the perfect choice. Luckily that weekend we were the only people staying at the resort and we had a ball of a time. The drive to the resort was amazing. The cottage that we got was also superb with a nice view of the lake. One thing that made me go nuts was the lizards on the ceiling. But we were in the middle of the forest and it made no sense to conplain about that!!

We stayed in black buck resort for on Oct 19 for one night. The biggest advantage of resort is it is just 130 km from Hyderabad and still such a serene location. Resort rooms are facing a beautiful lake. Unfortunately due to lack of rain in region it might dried up soon. Rooms are quite big. Our stay started with Views from room followed by Lunch. Then we went for trek. It was a trek and not walk. It was amazing,. After a tiring trek boating what else you want. some snacks with soup. Day ended with camp fire and dinner. Food was simple, not spicy at all. Next day bird watching and black buck sighting. Yes we saw herd of black buck. a great breakfast. This is how we ended our perfect family outing for a day. JLR is more for Jungle but for this location they should add Heritage Tour. Bidar is more of Heritage location than Jungle. It will be more fun if JLR do it or facilitate it. May be heritage tour and black buck sighting cane be combined.

There are 16 cottages of three levels. We stayed in Cottage #10 - special cottage. Good size; comfortable; neat bathroom but maintenance calls for improvement. Food is reasonable quality (better than average) but the people are cooperative. The Dining area is separate and independent from cottages and reception room. No TV facilities. A good sized lake and good boating options. The blackbuck forest is about 25 kms drive - the resort drives to that place. The Manager is really good and helpful.
